Offers latin music, reggae en espanol, shakira and latin music reviews. You'll hear echoes of La Sonora Ponceņa, Charlie Palmieri's Duboney, and last, but not least, the Fania All-Stars. All that comes courtesy of producer Jose Lugo's musical vision, spurred on with a little help from some of the Fania era's most creative minds, Bobby Valentin, Luis "Perico" Ortiz, and Luis Garcia. After a thorough listening session I'm sure that you'll agree, this latest release is in fact INTENSO. - George Rivera Veteran Mexican-American percussionist Poncho Sanchez established his credentials while performing for several years with the late Cal Tjader. For more than two decades Sanchez has been recording his own patented brand of Latin jazz. "Keeper Of The Flame" is a new package of two of his albums: "Sonando" and "Bien Sabroso!" Originally recorded in 1983 and 1984 respectively, these sessions are now available for the first time on compact disc. What has distinguished the conguero's music all these years as been the stability of his band, which in turn produces a tight sound. "Sonando" features the standard Cuban classic "Almendra," Eddie Cano's tribute to Cal Tjader "Cal's Pals," and another homage this one to the Cuban pianist Peruchin, by Charlie Otwell. "Bien Sabroso!" is argueably one of the band's best records, helped along during this period by the many fine compositions of pianist Charlie Otwell. We sell fantastic latin music!

Paul Horn's tune "Half and Half" swings back and forth from 6/8 to 4/4 time and is a prime example of the exciting fusion of jazz and Latino rhythms. Poncho Sanchez fans have to wait no longer, the "Keeper Of The Flame" has arrived. - Alfredo Alvarado Back a few years ago, somewhere in a Bronx Church, there was this "Salsa" band by the name of Orquesta Inspiracion.
