IslaMusical.com Affiliate How-To
Once your Affiliate application has been approved, you will be issued a unique affiliate ID. This ID is used when linking to the IslaMusical.com web site to identify the shopper as coming from your web site. When the ID is included in the URL (as explained in the examples below), a cookie is set on the user's browser so that if and when they make a purchase, it will be credited to the appropriate affiliate account.
It is simple to link to any page on the IslaMusical.com web site. Just follow these simple steps:
- Visit the page you want to link to on IslaMusical.com site.
- Copy the URL from the location bar on your browser.
- Add your affiliate ID as a parameter on the URL using the variable named affid. See the examples below for guidelines to add the affiliate ID.
When visiting the resulting URL, the IslaMusical.com system will cookie the user as originating from your site, strip the affiliate identifier from the URL and redirect the user to the resulting page. You can tell the system accepted your affiliate ID because it won't appear on the browser line after the redirect occurs and the cookies on your browser will be set.
For the examples below, we'll use a sample affiliate ID of ISLA0001. Replace ISLA0001 with YOUR affiliate ID.
Linking to the Home Page
To link to the IslaMusical.com home page, the link in your HTML page should be:
http://www.islamusical.com/index.html?affid=ISLA0001
Linking to a Specific Category
To link to a specific category (in this case the World Music page), the link in your HTML page should be:
http://www.islamusical.com/index.html?affid=ISLA0001&c=126
Linking to a Specific Artist
To link to a specific artist (in this case Ricky Martin), the link in your HTML page should be:
http://www.islamusical.com/artist.html?affid=ISLA0001&a=25878&c=126
Linking to a Specific Product
To link to a specific product (in this case Ricky Martin's Coleccion De Oro), the
link in your HTML page should be:
http://www.islamusical.com/sku.html?affid=ISLA0001&p=23197&c=126
